Comment on Summer Job Ideas For Teens by Untemplater.

I used to babysit in my teen years when I wasn’t away at summer camp or summer school. I tried getting a part-time retail job a couple times but never got hired. Whatever type of job you can get is great experience as a teen. Not only does it build character, it helps teach teens about budgeting and working hard.

The Ups and Downs of Blogging
Blogging is one of those things that’s so easy to start but takes discipline to keep up long term. Many blogs come and go, especially when people are only focused on doing it for the money. Blogging for fun or for a specific purpose first and treating money as a bonus or lower priority is what keeps many of the long term sites going strong.

Experience or Ability – Which is More Important?
I like your section on how doing something is better than doing nothing at all. That’s so true in so many aspects of life. How often are we experts at anything? I feel much better anytime I can say I tried and failed at something versus just sitting around and doing nothing at all. Your experience at that firm sounds fascinating to me. I’m always intrigued at the actions businesses take and trying to understand why things can go so wrong sometimes. I see a lot of that with the numerous startups in the Bay Area.

Moving Past Post Election Distractions
I didn’t watch the polls that much. It was too stressful and distracting. I went to bed not knowing the final results. I was surprised the market didn’t crash the next day esp since the future were all over the place the night before. I’ve been buying bonds recently in the sell-off.

Blackberry Will No Longer Make Devices
I’m surprised they lasted as long as they did. I thought they stopped making phones years ago!

David Eagleman – Simplifying the Complex
I’ll have to check out one of his TED talks sometime. The TED podcasts are some of my favorites.
