Comment on Can Local Businesses Compete? by Stefan – The Millennial Budget.

We did extensive research on this during my MBA and small business can thrive solely on their customer service. They do not have the capital to keep up with technology most of the times but if customers enjoy interacting with the staff they are more likely to return to the store. While many of these bigger stores have their benefits customer service is normally better at smaller stores, at least in my experience.

100 Posts and Counting – Financial Slacker Update
Congrats on this great milestone! I love to read your perspective and see how writing on your blog has changed your life. I may not speak for all bloggers but I feel the same way as you. Before blogging money was something that freely flowed in and out of my bank account. Now I want to hold true to what I write about and even though I am not working yet I have seen my mentality towards wealth change. And also the working world. Cheers to 100 post and many more to come!

Financial Slacker Monthly Update – June 2016
Nice to see the site is growing Dave. Shows that the hardwork is paying off and before you know it your consulting business on the side will have you busier than you ever wanted to be, which is good and bad. Blogging is certainly more work than many would think but you are having tremendous success. Great job and looking forward to more.

Regrets Can Become Opportunities
So glad I got to read this post as you know that I am going into Big 4. I am glad that I have started my CPA, hope I finish it before I begin working. I heard that they are brutal with performance reviews so I hope to learn from your experience and be patient as it will work out in the long run. Thanks for sharing the experience as I can directly relate to this.

Save Thousands More by Changing Your Focus
Anything beginning or with the thought of luxury is usually going to negatively impact your financial situation. Starting out with a plan is a great way to get your goals down in writing. This usually creates a new dimension of dedication to the plan. Once the plan is carried through the first time it will be far easier in the future. Like yourself, I do not tell my readers to ditch everything in life and live with the bar minimum. However, I think we all have expenses to cut and those small expenses can really add up to major cost once the numbers are put onto paper.

Employment Growth Rate Declining
Your article further strengthens my belief to horde some cash on the side until the market dips. I have been looking for ways to cut my expenses through phone and electricity, it is hard having roommates that don’t care about money. Really hoping to take advantage of the next dip.
