I started playing Just Dance on the Playstation. For the record, I am a terrible dancer, but I really enjoy flailing my body about. I try to do it when nobody is home, but lately I have been really intensely tracking my calorie intake and exercise so sometimes I have to play when someone else is home. We have a recumbent bike as well and it’s not as fun as dancing, but if I looking just to get my body moving I ride it while watching a tv show or reading a book.
It was really hard to start but once I exercised 3-4 days in a row it started to become part of my routine.

Drowning in Email: What is the Solution?
I have no advice; I am in a similar boat. For awhile I caught up and stayed caught up-but then the holidays happened. Usually I go though my emails in the morning and either delete or move emails to different folder. I keep the ones that need more attention in my in box until I no longer need it. The problem with this is that I don’t often go back to my folders to re-examine why I kept them in the first place.

Frugal or Cheap?
I think overall I am frugal but there are times when I am cheap. I don’t like to use the heat/ac so the house can get uncomfortable at time. That was fine when I was living along but now that I live with others I need to compromise. I agree with Francesca-cheap definitely is not tipping at a meal or always mooching off friends/family.
Renting vs Buying
When we bought our home, we did so assuming we would never sell it. Not because we want to live in it forever (though we could, it is lovely) but because we live in a college town and know that unless something terrible happens to the university, we will always be able to rent it for more than the mortgage. And rents will typically be higher in 10 years than they are now, while our mortgage payment will stay the same. Our mortgage is less than what we were paying in rent, so even with the hassles of repairs it’s more than worth it for us to own.
Also, if we didn’t own our house we probably would not be able to rent our basement out on Airbnb-we’ve only being doing this since November, but we have made at least the mortgage + property tax payment every month, and more in May because of graduation.
