It’s Super Bowl LI weekend.
And with food, friends, and football. What else do you need?
Even without the Dallas Cowboys playing in Super Bowl LI this weekend, the event will still rate as one of the most-watched television events of the year. And without a horse in the race, I’m just hoping for a close game and to be entertained by the commercials.
In the event neither the game nor the commercials are up to par, in the past, I’ve participated in a few office betting squares, but since I’m no longer working in an office, I have nothing on the line. For those of you who like to make the game a little more interesting, here’s a short SB Nation article with the odds on a few creative bets.
I’ve heard that Costco sells more televisions over Super Bowl weekend than any other time of the year. And because of their generous, no questions asked return policy, a massive percentage of those televisions are returned the following week. That’s so not cool!
Super Bowl LI is also a great excuse to ditch your New Year’s diet resolutions. With the game being held in Houston, I’ll be opting for a little Texas BBQ. The Salt Lick in Austin is a good option if you happen to be out that way. But we’ll be dining on homemade BBQ which is even better.
The only remaining question is where will you be watching the game?
Readers, do you have plans to watch Super Bowl LI this weekend? Will you watch at home, with friends, in a bar? Or maybe in person? I would love to hear any good Super Bowl stories.

My brother in law will be there, and better yet it’s not on his dime. He’s got some nice work perks…! I’ll be at home with friends. It’s always fun checking out the unique being lines for the game. No dog in the fight for me either so hopefully it’s a close one, I think it will be. Enjoy!

You got your wish!
That was quite the game. Your brother-in-law picked a good one.
